Lockdown Wisconsin: Extended Sentences

Thank goodness I didn't set New Year's resolutions for 2020.  Honestly, 2020 has been horrible and we're only four months into the year.  I've been struggling to make sense of all this chaos surrounding COVID-19.  Wisconsin has been placed on an extended lockdown by Governor Tony Evers.  Our new release date is May 26.

I had such high hopes going into this year. There was this promise of fresh beginnings.  I was working toward my fitness goals. I had so many plans for the summer and now most of the events are canceled.

There is no Portage County Cultural Festival at SPASH this year.  Milwaukee Polish Festival has been canceled, and Pulaski Polka Days, too.  So far Rock USA in Oshkosh is still on, but I am afraid that may be postponed, too.

Owen and I won't be going to cub scout camp in Rhinelander this June.  Walk Wisconsin has also been canceled this year.  And my friend and I were going to take up golf lessons but our Pro advised we will need to wait a little longer for that. I cried as I crossed out all these events in my day planner.

I'm trying to look on the bright side. It's not easy.  I don't' mind being at home.  Truly, I'm cool with this.  It's the fact that I can't get up and go SOMEWHERE when I'm restless.  I'm an extroverted introvert.  Too much time away from my friends and coworkers is slowly driving me crazy.

May 26 sure feels like forever away.
