Whole30: Day One FAIL

Day One of Whole30 was a big fail.  No joke.  I did amazing with my foods for breakfast and lunch.  I was feeling super impressed with myself.  And then I got home from work to find that my husband had made spaghetti for dinner.  He claims he forgot that today was Day One.  The grilled chicken I had planned to make?  He put the chicken breast in the freezer.

I know, I could have found something else to make that was Whole30 compliant.  I chose to eat spaghetti.  The bright side of this lesson is that it taught me that planning is important.  And being on the same page with my husband is super important.  He's not super thrilled about completely changing our eating patterns, but this will be good for both of us in the long run.

The one thing I noticed during the first part of the day is how much our cravings affect us.  By lunchtime, I had a terrible headache.  It wasn't responding to ibuprofen or acetaminophen.  After lunch, it subsided a little bit but came back full force by 3:30.  I came home from work at 5 o'clock and crashed.  I couldn't even keep my eyes open.

I feel like I just need to get these hormones under control and Whole30 promises to help that, but maybe I'm not eating enough?  Or maybe I'm not salting my foods?  Too little sodium can also trigger headaches I've read.

Regardless, I've decided to take a few more days to get better at planning and will try this again next week.  The moderator of the Whole30 boards I was stalking said that starting over, from scratch, is important so that's what I'm going to do.  Wish me luck!
