Coping with Grief

I've been pondering this subject for a few days, debating whether I wanted to write about it.  Our community has suffered a tragic loss, a dear friend has lost her husband.  There are no words that can take away the heartbreak, the pain, the anger.  Why did this have to happen?

I try to recall the loved ones I've lost and the grief I've experienced but it doesn't compare to anyone else's experience.  No two people will share the same emotions when a loved one passes away.  We all handle loss very differently.

I can say with certainty that we are all devastated for our friend and her children.  People often wonder what to say or how they can offer support to the grieving family. The blog Grief Healing has written about this extensively (lots of resources there)  and I feel that it's very important to share this post about what to say and what not to say to a grieving person.  Please check it out.
