Terrible Twos: When Your Kid Has a Meltdown

My youngest child is in the midst of the Terrible Twos and I don't think I can take it anymore.  Yesterday he threw a fit because he wanted a quarter.  When I gave him one, he threw himself onto the floor and demanded that I give him a bigger quarter.  I truly thought he'd lost his damn mind.

"Quarters are only one size, and they're all the same! That is a quarter!"

"Noooooo. It's. NOT!"

I dug my wallet out of my purse, dumped out all the change and gave him a lesson on pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.  He just kept crying.  These little meltdowns are so difficult for me.  I'm sure they're not easy on my baby either, but man can he wail.  Bob Marley would be proud.

I pray this normally sweet little boy grows out of this.  I may have to move out until it's over!  What are your tips to get through this?
